Fakten
- PCE, TCE and other CHC contaminated aquifers
- Effective against dissolved contaminants and DNAPL phase
- No partially dechlorinated by-product production, such as DCE or VC
- No rebound effects
- Patented, field-proven and ecosafe application
Target contaminants
Chlorinated hydrocarbons (CHC), such as PCE and TCE, are among the most common contaminants detected in groundwater. They occur at numerous sites as they have been widely used in dry cleaning, chemical synthesis, and other industrial processes. In situ degradation can be stimulated via microbial or chemical treatments, however, in many cases, a partial degradation is observed, with corresponding accumulation of more toxic by-products, such as VC.
Benefits
intrablack® opens a completely new approach for the remediation of CHC source zones and contaminant plumes, through the creation of highly reactive zones in the aquifer system. Pollutants such as PCE and TCE are permanently immobilized and completely reduced, without producing DCE or VC. intrablack®is an extremely more effective alternative to conventional zerovalent iron materials, due to its higher contaminant destruction rates and treatment longevity.
